Civica’s HR team had clear requirements for an online training portal. With 4000 staff spread across the world, the goal was to promote greater standardisation across the organisation. The challenges of doing so – with different corporate divisions, differing time zones and staff with differing levels of responsibility – were clear.
The purpose of Civica’s relationship with Frog was to provide a company-wide system that would enable Civica to cascade training and the sharing of good practise to staff members across the world.
In addition, Frog would re-purpose Civica’s existing training materials (documents, PowerPoint presentations, etc.) into rich, modern learning modules that could be accessed by staff any time, anywhere, on any device.
Implementing standardisation across a large global organisation was at the heart of the project. Civica’s vision was that all training would be delivered through a common platform, to include everything, from compliance through to staff development and manager training programmes, and internal process training.
A common platform would enable a consistent approach to the rollout across every part of the organisation, helping to cement a consistent global culture.
Civica wanted to complete the rollout to all divisions and areas in the shortest possible time.
It was decided that a brief pilot phase with a single division would be the precursor to a full companywide implementation and as a result, the training platform was piloted with the Sales team.
The standardisation of sales training provided a strong, consistent sales culture while ensuring that processes were in place to measure sales success and forecast future sales more accurately. This pilot phase saw training rolled out to more than 300 sales staff, who were able to use the platform not only to train, but to benefit from shared good practise.
The success of the Sales training programme was enough for Civica to move forward rapidly with rolling out training to the rest of the business.
As a large company handling sensitive data and over £150 billion every year, the security of the platform was a key concern.
Civica’s IT and Security teams performed extensive security checking to ensure that the platform was fully secure, while being robust and scalable. Frog was considered not only a modern and engaging training portal, that would enhance the global culture of Civica – it was also deemed a secure and safe option.
Into the future
The success of Civica’s training portal means that Civica can continue to extend a growing bank of training opportunities to staff around the world.
It doesn’t end here… The potential of online training has wider applications, and the Frog training platform is now used by Civica to train its own customers in the use of Civica software.
